How to Prep Your Artwork for DTF Printing

Getting your file right the first time saves a round of back-and-forth before your gang sheet goes to print. Here's what we look for:

• File type: Transparent PNG, TIFF, or vector PDF work best. If you only have a JPEG or need cleanup, send what you have — we can help prep it.
• Resolution: 300 DPI at the size you want it printed. Scaling up a low-res image will show on press.
• Background: Keep it transparent unless the design is meant to have a solid background — DTF only prints what's in the file.
• Color matching: Share Pantone references or product photos if brand color accuracy matters, and we'll dial in the color profile before printing.
• Layout: No minimums on gang sheets — use the Gang Sheet Builder

Recommended Heat Press Settings for DTF Transfers

Every transfer we send out includes a cheat sheet, but here's the baseline setting that works for most fabrics:

• Temperature: 285°F
• Time: 12 seconds
• Pressure: Medium

Peel cold once the transfer has cooled for the cleanest release. If you're pressing a heat-sensitive fabric (like some polyester blends), test on a scrap piece first or contact us — we're happy to walk through settings for your specific garment.
